UnREAL Casts Caitlin FitzGerald As Everlasting's First 'Suitress'
Let's hope she gets a better crop of dudes than JoJo did on The Bachelorette.
What happened? Lifetime's buzzy scripted drama UnREAL has announced a major casting coup: we already knew Season 3 of UnREAL would revolve around the first time Everlasting, UnREAL's Bachelor-esque show-within-a-show, mounted a series with a woman choosing a spouse from a selection of men, and now we know that "suitress" will be played by Caitlin FitzGerald.
Why has this happened? For a few years, FitzGerald has been building up her TV credits: in addition to playing Libby on Masters Of Sex and Chloe in the last days of Rectify, she did a memorable episode of New Girl last season as Diane, long-lost love to Jess's then-boyfriend Sam. She's a good choice to handle both UnREAL's absurd comedic elements as well as its darkly soapy drama. And it's a good idea for UnREAL to do a major reset for Season 3 by shaking up its premise, since Season 2 was...not great.
What do I do now? Watch Season 1 of UnREAL on Lifetime's app; just read the episode descriptions for Season 2 so you have a vague idea of what happened.
