The Closing Montage From The Six Feet Under Series Finale

The case for The Dog Butt From The Opening Credits Of Downton Abbey

Since it reached these shores in the early 20-teens, Americans have fallen deeply in love with the ersatz poshness of Downton Abbey. The buttoned-up class business surrounding an aristocratic family in a seemingly perpetual cash crunch and their variously loyal servants was just another soap opera to its English viewers, whereas Americans were tricked into thinking it's all fancy and important. How is it possible that any of us ever took it seriously when the very first thing one sees at the beginning of EVERY EPISODE is a dog's behind? (If you are able to get past that first shot of the credits without yelling "Dog butt!," you're certainly more mature than everyone who lives in our household, with the possible exception of our dog.) — Tara Ariano

The case for The Closing Montage From The Six Feet Under Series Finale

No one could dispute that the waning hours of Six Feet Under certainly had their problems. But I have yet to meet anyone who has a problem with the last several minutes of the season finale, which take the viewer into the future and through the deaths of all the Fisher family members and loved ones, set to Sia.

Apparently, when Lauren Ambrose cries, I can't NOT cry, but your mileage may vary. — Tara Ariano
