Santino's Tim Gunn Impression

The case for Jack Donaghy Does The Jordan Family

[The original video was pulled by Hulu after a couple days. Best we have now is this humble link.]

Over the years, Alec Baldwin has pulled out his Tracy Morgan impression a number of times. The best use of this, however, was probably when, as Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock, Alec not only did Tracy (with a bit of "JJ" from "Good Times" mixed in), but also a theoretical father of Tracy (or rather Tracy Jordan) who sounds suspiciously like Redd Foxx, a mother who's worried about the Jordan family welfare check, the "white dude" Tracy's Mom left his Dad for, and their Hispanic neighbor "Mrs. Rodriguez".

It's crass, totally politically incorrect, and... hilarious. — Kromm

The case for Santino's Tim Gunn Impression

Project Runway's greatest contribution to our shared culture is Tim Gunn. There is no bigger reality tv star who is as improbable -- he is dignified and competent, compassionate and expert. His every interaction with Project Runway contestants disproves one of reality tv's bedrock principles, that one must stop being polite to get real. One of the great joys of the early seasons of Project Runway was watching the contestants warm to him, just as we were doing at home. For my money, there is no better such moment than the Tim Gunn impression that Season 2 contestant Santino Rice did, in which he constructed a fantasy in which Tim Gunn and co-contestant Andrae Gonzalo were at Red Lobster together. It's that magical case of a reality television contestant actually being as funny as he thinks he's being.

Bonus points for Tim Gunn's reaction when he gently confronts Santino about it and manages to out-Gunn the impression itself. — Eliz
